Woosie Bloody Mary

A Bloody Mary can take many forms ranging from savory, tangy, salty, and spicy. While this often relies on the preferences of bartenders and taste-testers alike, there are a few key aspects to keep in mind when mixing this satisfying cocktail. Firstly, choose the freshest ingredients, select a high-quality tomato juice (organic if you can find it), and a nice clean vodka that has a smooth taste. Secondly, a bell jigger will come in handy to measure ingredients in "parts", and though it's not necessary for this recipe, it makes for easy mixing. Thirdly, select a glass for your drink that allows room for your ice and garnish - double old-fashioned glasses are great for this, or you can use a classic tall tumbler. Lastly, round up your favorite garnish add-on's and remember, they're not just for looks! A few fresh shrimp will add a little protein, as will a slice of crispy bacon if you're feeling extra hardy. The main thing to remember is that you can tailor this cocktail to your taste with just a tweak or two. Enjoy!

INSTRUCTIONS

To prepare your glass, add season salt to a small saucer, then the juice half a lemon in another small saucer. Take your cocktail glass, dip into the dish with lemon juice, and then into the season salt of your choosing - coating just the rim, and set aside. Now, in a cocktail shaker, add your liquid ingredients. Give this mix a quick stir and taste for seasoning - adjust if needed. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and gently mix, using a back and forth motion, until it is ice cold, and strain over ice into your prepared glass. Garnish with celery stalk, dill sprig, a slice of crispy bacon, and a few fresh shrimp. For an extra kick, top with a dash of Woos! Hot Sauce!
