Hearty and Healthy Grass-Fed Beef Recipes

For many, the start of a new year brings fresh goals and aspirations. It could be staying organized, waking up earlier, getting outside more, or the ever so popular: maintaining healthy eating habits. That resolution may have seemed like a comfortable, easy idea back in December, but now that we are in the thick of it, it may be proving to be a bit more challenging. We’re right there with you. However, just because you’re choosing to “eat healthier” this doesn’t mean you need to rob yourself of the foods and flavors that bring you most pleasure!

Market House has a wide variety of healthy, nutritious meats and seafood — from pork to poultry to lamb to king crab and more. One of the healthiest beef choices that you can make for your New Year’s nutrition resolution is grass-fed, grass-finished beef. Of course, you may be shocked by the idea of combining “healthy eating” with “beef,” but grass-fed beef is one of the most nutritious choices available on the market. Here’s why:

  • Grass-fed beef is loaded with essential nutrients
    • Iron is important for blood health
    • Zinc helps with your body’s immune system
    • Selenium is a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent nerve damage and promotes a healthy thyroid
    • Vitamin B12 helps with brain function
    • Niacin (B3)—low levels of niacin in the body have been linked to heart disease
    • Phosphorus is essential for body growth and maintenance
    • L-carnitine plays a part in fat metabolism

If you’re new to grass-fed and grass-finished beef and aren’t quite sure how to prepare it, we have collected some wonderful recipe ideas to help you get started.
